Stake Co-Founder Bijan Tehrani Launches Club App

Stake co-founder Bijan Tehrani thanks the creators who made Club home before launch, then declares it a pillar of the internet.

Bijan Tehrani, co-founder of Stake and Kick, announced on Friday that Club, Tehrani's new creator platform, is now live on iOS and Android. It arrives with thousands of creators already inside, which the company presented less as a technical detail than as proof that it had built a home and only now gotten around to hanging the sign.

The announcement was posted as a quote of Club's own launch video, which opened with the phrase 'This is the moment.' The company went on to specify that the app was live on 'all platforms, all people, no exceptions,' that there would be 'no more soon,' and that anyone still scrolling should 'go download it' because they were 'going to want to be here for what's next.'

Tehrani's portion of the occasion was a thank-you note written in an unusual tense. 'To the thousands of creators who made Club home before we'd even properly launched: thank you,' Tehrani wrote. 'You built this with us.' A platform that has collected a resident population before its public debut is either a very promising sign or a very flexible definition of the word launch; the company is confident it is the former.

The third pillar

Club now sits beside Stake, the crypto casino, and Kick, the streaming site, in a portfolio that has grown into a single media stack. The post name-checked Henrik Pohlmann, the co-founder and CEO of Club, as the person with the 'mountain of work ahead' and a team 'ready for it.'

Club will be a pillar of the internet for streamers, their communities & beyond.

That is the stated ambition: not an app, but a pillar. Tehrani closed with the customary summons to early adopters, 'Get in early,' which is how one addresses people standing outside a building one has just described as load-bearing. The person issuing the invitation lists on X, among other qualifications, the co-founding of three companies and '10,000+ hours in RuneScape,' so the infrastructure metaphor is presumably meant to be taken at face value.
