On Friday, an indie slot studio called Midia Gaming did something that typically requires either a track record, a distribution deal, or a marketing department. It launched its first game, Crush Depth, exclusively on Stake, the largest crypto casino in the world.

Crush Depth is a submarine-themed slot built around a DEPTH multiplier mechanic. Players descend through a trench, stacking the multiplier as they go, chasing a 25,000x max win that sits, according to the studio, at the bottom. The branding suggests someone at Midia Gaming has been waiting years to deploy a submarine motif, and the restraint is admirable. There are no torpedoes in the promotional material. Not yet.

The launch giveaway is being funded at a level that makes the studio's ambitions look even bolder. Five winners will each receive $25, for a total promotional budget of $125. Entry requires following Midia Gaming on X, liking and retweeting the announcement, playing Crush Depth on Stake, and posting a screenshot of a 125x win or better.

Midia Gaming's X account had posted exactly two tweets as of Friday morning. It follows five accounts. Its bio reads "Indie slot studio diving deeper than the rest," accompanied by a snorkel emoji. The studio has a blue checkmark, which on the platform now means it paid for one, but the account's 2-tweet, 5-following posture gives it the energy of a band that printed T-shirts before booking a rehearsal space.

The Stage

Stake, for its part, was busy celebrating its ninth birthday on the same day. The platform posted about a commemorative poker event and a giveaway stream hosted by CEO Eddie. It did not publicly acknowledge the launch of Crush Depth. A studio with two tweets landed an exclusive on the industry's biggest stage, and the stage did not look up from its cake.

The announcement had generated zero replies and zero quote tweets as of Friday afternoon. For a slot promising a 25,000x max win, the splash has been remarkably quiet. Whether Crush Depth finds an audience will depend on whether the game itself is any good. Midia Gaming has placed its debut on the biggest possible stage. Now it waits to see if anyone shows up.
