Yeet Ends Airdrop Points Season on September 30

Yeet is shutting off its airdrop points on September 30 and selling the shutdown as a gift to loyal players.

Yeet announced on Friday that the current season of its Airdrop Points ends September 30, when point accumulation stops and the Airdrop Leaderboard freezes wherever it stands. The casino says the cutoff will "stop further dilution for existing players," which is one way to describe turning off a loyalty faucet and calling it a favor to the people still holding cups.

That leaves players just under seven weeks to keep earning before the leaderboard locks. Every point accrued by September 30 counts toward final placement; every point after that is a souvenir. The announcement includes one sentence up front for anyone who might mistake the deadline for a delivery date.

This does not mean that the airdrop will be occurring on or near this date.

Season 2, the post explains, will not begin until after the airdrop actually takes place. That puts the program into a gap of unspecified length between the end of the current leaderboard and the start of the next one, and since the airdrop still has no announced date, the gap is currently measured in quarters, seasons, or whenever the remaining infrastructure gets finished.

The replacement faucet

To fill that gap, Yeet will introduce a larger Monthly Chairman's Cup Race with payouts across "significantly more finishing places" than the current race. The casino already runs a weekly $50,000 version of the Cup, a leaderboard that pays 25 players every Friday. The consolation for losing your airdrop points, then, is a bigger version of the other leaderboard. The faucet is not so much off as relabeled.

Dilution, defined

Dilution, in the airdrop economy, is what happens when new players keep earning points and shrink the relative share of everyone who showed up early. Freezing the season does lock in existing positions, in roughly the same way a restaurant protects early diners by closing the kitchen while they are still waiting for dessert. The casino gets to sound protective of the grinders while also telling the grind to stop.

Yeet addressed the waiting directly. "We know the community has been waiting for more clarity around the airdrop, and we appreciate your patience," the post reads, before noting that the platform launched 16 months ago, the sportsbook followed 10 months ago, and the team has been "focused on building the platform, product, and infrastructure required to support what comes next." Development on the remaining airdrop features is "now underway." Translated, the deadline is firm, the payout is not, and the scaffolding is still going up.

None of that dims the closing enthusiasm. The next chapter, the post says, could not be more exciting. That chapter opens with a frozen leaderboard, an unscheduled airdrop, and a monthly race where players can keep doing what the points program originally asked them to do. The faucet is off. The cups remain.
